Scholarships Currently Available

Scholarship season is fully underway. There is currently 7.5 Million Dollars worth of scholarships that are open for applications on ScholarTree! Once students complete their profile they will be matched to all of the awards that they qualify for.

We know now is when students start to plan for next year financially. So we wanted to remind you that there is a downloadable budget template available to everyone at the bottom of https://scholartree.ca/educators.

Additionally, here are a couple of scholarships that are available now:

Winter Plant Sale/Bottle Drive

Fundraising dates; I have received a few emails indicating that there are sport commitments on the bottle drive date. There are 43 potential graduates in this cohort, to be honest, no matter what date that is picked for fundraising, it is impossible to select a date that will meet everyone's personal commitments; work, family, hobbies, sports, transportation, health, ..., and so on.

This is why we hold various fundraising events throughout the school year to raise some funds, but also for the cohort to get together during their last school year.

As shared with a few already, I try to book bottle drives around major calendar (Christmas) and/or sporting (CFL, NFL) events for the greatest return for the participant's efforts. Similarly when grad parent(s) plan other events such as pub nights, canvas and fizz and/or meat draws at the Legion there will be other parent(s) that can participate due to personal commitments.

Those parents interested in learning more about past adult focused fundraisers, please contact me via this email thread, thank you.

Regards,

Mr. K

Happy Thanksgiving to all,

Fundraiser info:

Winter Plant Sale: Attached is the order and info form for this fundraiser. These forms will be available via the grad bulletin board tomorrow. This is an individual fundraising event.

Bottle Drive: Our first bottle drive will be Nov 30th, the Saturday after the Grey Cup weekend. We will need both parent and student participation for this event, and the use of vehicles. There is no sign-up sheet at school, there will be a participation sign-in and out sheet there that is time stamped. Parents, I will need some chaperone for this event. Please email me via this thread. This a grad point fundraising event.

If we have a strong participation at this bottle drive, I will organize another one for the first weekend after the Christmas break and after the Super Bowl.

If you have any questions, please contact me.

Scholarships

Hi all,

ScholarTree is still committed to helping reduce student debt in Canada by making scholarship more accessible. Most people don't realise how many scholarships are awarded early in the school year. ScholarTree.ca has $997,500 worth of scholarships that are currently accepting applications. Students can find which scholarships are best fit for them by signing up at ScholarTree.ca.

You have to sign up with them to access their scholarship partners. This is separate from the district and community offered scholarships and bursaries.
